As predicted, it does not take his dad long at all to get him out of Beacon Hills with a heartfelt declaration that Scott et al are welcome to come visit them any time they want, but Stiles is not setting foot in Beacon Hills again for as long as Noah Stilinski has a say in it. Stiles would argue, but they had these arguments the first time around when they moved to Neptune, and if he's being honest - well. He feels guilty as hell about leaving his pack again to deal with the absolute insanity that is Beacon Hills on their own, but also kind of relieved to have the place in his rearview mirror again. It's cowardly, he knows, especially given his personal responsibility for its state of heightened danger, but hell, maybe he's a coward.

His dad gives them both the day off work and school for a couple days while he heals up, which works out okay because then he has the time to send Veronica some notes on The Supernatural: What's Real, What's Not Real, and What She Should Know, careful to slip in information on kitsunes because he's more or less decided he's going to tell her the truth. When he sees her next, probably, unless he chickens out, cause now that he knows she knows the truth about werewolves, she should probably also know the truth about her boyfriend being an unwilling killer.

He didn't technically undersell his injuries that much over the phone, but the bruising is pretty visible and his arm's going to be in a sling for a couple weeks. Technically he doesn't have to come to the door to meet her when she gets to his house since his dad has it handled, but he does anyway, moving stiffly and offering up a slightly sheepish smile when he sees her. "Hey."

All in all, Veronica thinks she is handling this situation remarkably well. It sounded insane when she first discovered that Scott was indeed a werewolf. It had taken some time to process. Werewolves were not supposed to exist. Most people remained blissfully unaware of what was right under their noses. Most people would never know or even suspect what was actually going on in Beacon Hills. But Veronica knew now. One thing about Veronica Mars was that she liked to know things. She didn't like being in the dark.

Some might have called it paranoia or said that she had serious trust issues, but Veronica liked to...vet her friends for lack of a better term. Okay, maybe investigate her friends was more accurate but she had her reasons. She needed to know who she was getting involved with. So she had learned about...Beacon Hills and Scott McCall a couple of weeks after she'd met Stiles and they'd become friends.

She had gone to Beacon Hills to do some digging. She couldn't help it. After what happened to Lilly, Veronica had to be so much more careful about things. And Stiles seemed like he was going to become a big and important part of her life early on. She couldn't explain why she'd felt that way, only that she did. And if Stiles was going to be in her life, Veronica needed to know things about him that he may not have been ready to share.

And that was how she'd found herself in Beacon Hills and learned that werewolves existed. And that Stiles' best friend Scott McCall was one of them. She hadn't brought it up with Stiles at all until he'd contacted her recently during a trip to Beacon Hills. And then she finally decided to tell him she knew. He wouldn't need to omit things or act dodgy anymore. She wasn't mad he hadn't told her, it wasn't an easy thing to tell. She knew about more than just the werewolves of Beacon Hills but she didn't know everything yet.

Now Stiles was back in Neptune, and Veronica is glad they're going to be able to talk face-to-face. She needs to see with her own eyes, that he's alright. Since they started dating, Veronica has been even more concerned. She worries about losing him. Like she lost Lilly. She tries not to think about that though as he answers the door, and she puts on a smile.

"Hey, let me guess, I should see the other guy?" She asks lightly, observing his obvious injuries.

Well, that's a terrifying thought: Donovan vs Veronica. Not likely to happen, thank god, thanks to the guy being locked away, but still terrifying. "Absolutely not," he says, which is definitely taking the question more seriously than he should've, but attempted murder will do that to a guy.

"I know, I was kidding," Veronica says. She doesn't want him to worry she'll go after the guy or something. Mr. Taser probably wouldn't serve her well in that regard. But she's beyond pissed that someone hurt him like this. She's...protective.

"When are you coming back to school? I've got your homework and stuff."

"A couple days." Enough time for him to heal up a little more and, uh, stop being quite so jumpy from leftover ~~trauma~~ paranoia. "So, you know, at least I got a little vacation out of this."

"That makes sense," Veronica nods. She's a little surprised Noah isn't keeping him out a week. Hopefully, that's a testament to Stiles more or less being okay. "Always looking for that silver lining, aren't we?"

"Gotta find something, you know?" Otherwise, parts of his life would just be a conga-line of suck. He shrugs up his good shoulder. "You wanna go upstairs?" And have some privacy for Conversation, he does not explicitly say but it's implied.

"Yeah, I get it." Veronica nods. "And sure." She's not sure if his dad knows she knows or how he'll react to it if she does. It's better for them to discuss everything privately. Honestly, she's just so relieved to finally see him with her own eyes and know he's okay. But she also knows that scars aren't always the physical ones.

Speaking of his dad, Noah offers Veronica a warm greeting while they're on their way upstairs and lets them know they're welcome to snacks whenever. Once they're in his room, door cracked open in deference to house rules, he sits down on his bed and lets out a long breath. He'd told his dad that Veronica knows about the supernatural and he's planning to tell her some things today, but not everything he planned to discuss, so... yeah. He's flying solo-ish here. "...So."

Veronica greets Noah back and gives him a wave. She's always liked Stiles' dad, and her dad was becoming friends with him. That was good, Keith needed friends right now. Every since he'd accused Jake Kane of murdering Lilly, friends had become few and far between. And it's been like that for Veronica too. As much as she acts like nothing bothers her, it does. So when she had an instant connection with new kids Stiles, well it was likely no wonder they were dating now.

"So..." She mirrors, taking a seat at the desk in his room. She can tell he seems nervous to tell her about something. She won't pressure him. "How about those Pirates?" If Stiles needs time to work up the nerve to tell her something or what he wants to say, she wants him to know that they can talk about something else for now.

"No comment." It's not that he needs time to work up to it, exactly, so much as he needs... a second. Or motivation, like not making small talk about Neptune's teams. He breathes out. "So, uh, like I was saying. Before. Some bad stuff happened before my dad and I moved here." Might as well get right to it.

Veronica nods. She's going to let him get this out. And save any questions she might have for the end. She wants to be supportive. And she knows something is definitely getting to him. She's concerned, but she's going to let him talk first.

She's learned a good deal about Beacon Hills, but she's sure there is a lot she doesn't know too.

"Did you read the stuff I sent you about kitsune? Like Scott's girlfriend Kira?" he ends up asking, because yeah, he gave her homework for a conversation. Sue him. This is gonna get complicated.

"Yeah, I read over it," Veronica said. And she had also done some of her own research because of course she did. But she wanted to know what they could potentially come across. Beacon Hills seemed to be like an actual beacon for supernatural creatures and she wanted to learn what she could.

"So, uh. There's different kinds of kitsune," he says, absently counting his fingers because, even though he's like 99% sure he's awake right now, it's still kind of comforting. "There's the kind that Kira is, which is like - well, historically they're considered tricksters, and they can be like, good, bad, neutral, whatever. Kira's good. But there's also this kind called a nogitsune, and those are - they live to create chaos and pain, basically."

A beat. "I was... possessed... by a nogitsune."

Veronica wasn't sure how to process this. She'd learned a lot, but Stiles had been possessed by a fox spirit that thrived on chaos and pain? How terrifying that must have been for him. "You...were?" She asked. "What happened?" She was going to let him tell her before she jumped to any conclusions, which honestly was easier said than done. But she was going to try to be patient and let him say what he needed to say here.

"It's, uh. It's hard to explain." And really fucking difficult to talk about, now that he's saying it. He's never had to explain it to anyone that didn't already know about it, and it's suddenly hitting him how bad this could hurt. "I didn't even realize it was in my head at first. I couldn't remember anything it did, I thought I was just going crazy."

"You don't have to do this right now if you don't want to," Veronica said gently. She wanted to know of course, but not at the expense of his well-being. He could tell her when he was ready, he didn't have to force it. But maybe he just felt like it would be better to get it out. She could respect that too, she just wanted him to be comfortable.

"It did some really bad things when it was in my body," he forces out, fully aware that really bad things is completely underselling it, that he started this conversation in part because he thought Veronica should know who-slash-what she's dating, but god, this is hard. This is hard. It wasn't his fault, but at the same time, it was, there were things he could have done. Not good things, not things that would have resulted in fewer deaths, probably.

"Really bad meaning what?" Veronica asked. Was Stiles hesitating because he thought she might not be able to handle it or something? It hadn't really been Stiles from what she understood. She might not have known about nogitsunes, but she knew about possessions by demons and it seemed like it might be similar. Stiles was not responsible for what had happened while the Nogitsune was in his body. No matter what it has done.

"Really bad like I killed people." Not I, it, he thinks, but he doesn't correct it this time because it feels like it should be I. He'd thought he'd accepted that there was a difference between what he was responsible for and what the Nogitsune did, but the more he talks about it, the more he remembers, and the thing is, he still has those memories as if it was him.

"No, Stiles," Veronica corrected him. "You didn't kill anyone, the thing possessing you did." She was still having a hard time dealing with it, but she needed him to know that she knew it wasn't him. She needed him to know that even though she needed to wrap her head around all of this, that she was here for him. She wasn't going to desert him.

"...Yeah," he says after a long moment. It feels insincere to say, but it's what he told her, right? That it wasn't him. Because it wasn't him. Like he's supposed to remember, it wasn't him. Whether or not it was his fault is feeling more iffy right now, but it wasn't him calling the shots. "So, uh. That was the big thing that made us move."

Instead of saying anything else, she just wrapped her arms around him and held him. She wanted him to know that she was there. That she wasn't going anywhere. There was still a lot to process when it came to all of this supernatural stuff, but there would be time for that later. Right now the most important thing was making sure that Stiles was okay.

Well, that went... simultaneously worse and better than he expected. The hug is nice, at least, and he's totally on board with that, pulling her closer against him. "Sorry."

"You have no reason to be sorry, Stiles," Veronica told him. She couldn't really imagine what he was going through, but she was going to be there to help. "Thank you for telling me, I know it wasn't easy."

"Yeah, well." He shrugs up his good shoulder. "I figured you deserved to know." In case she wanted to run for the hills about now, which she isn't. It's not that he expected her to be afraid of this, exactly, but she's a pretty practical person, too. It wouldn't be unreasonable for her to decide this was too much.

She wasn't going anywhere and she needed him to know that. It was a lot to take in, a lot to handle. But she was stronger than most people gave her credit for. "I hope you, Scott, and your other friends kicked its ass and sent it to Hell." She said. She hoped that it could never torment Stiles or anyone else again.

"It was more Scott and the pack than, uh, me," he says, because he's pretty sure he doesn't deserve much if any credit for anything heroic that went down during that time, "but yeah."

"I'm sure you helped too," Maybe not in the same way but Stiles was very smart. She was sure he didn't just do nothing. And now he was safe in Neptune and she hoped they'd never have to deal with that again. But supernatural threats were real and she needed to learn everything she could about them. She needed to help keep the ones she loved safe.
